Breguet Marine Tourbillon Equation Marchante 5887
5887PT/92/5WV
This Grande Complication is equipped with a tourbillon at 5 o’clock, a perpetual calendar and the Equation of Time function.
One of Breguet’s most rare and fascinating Grand Complications, Equation of Time displays the difference between mean solar time (“equal solar time”) and true solar time (“true solar time”). The equation of time cam on the tourbillon’s axis is particularly noteworthy. On the Marine 5887, a hand adorned with a faceted gold sun motif displays the minutes of true solar time, while the perpetual calendar’s wealth of information is clearly visible between 9 and 3 o’clock. The 60-seconds tourbillon is mounted on a titanium cage and fitted with a silicon Breguet balance spring. This innovative design allows the balance wheel to oscillate at a frequency of up to 4 Hz, while providing the self-winding movement with an ample power reserve of up to 80 hours. The 80-hour power reserve display is located between 7 and 9 o’clock. The sapphire glass caseback reveals the hand-engraved motifs that cover the movement’s bridges.
